To help as many homeowners as possible take this step, the project offers comprehensive support – from an initial assessment and a tailored renovation plan to preferential rates through a group purchasing scheme. This makes climate-friendly renovation simpler, more efficient and more financially attractive.

As an implementation partner, SAK is working alongside 42hacks, the municipality of Uzwil, Investerra and the Canton of St. Gallen with the Energieagentur St. Gallen (St. Gallen Energy Agency). NORM provides an independent building energy assessment as a sound basis for the planned measures.

Energy assessments that are easy to understand

At NORM, we offer digital solutions for a comprehensive assessment of a property's energy performance. As part of the 100in100 project, we use our Verified Plan to help homeowners make informed decisions about energy improvements.

Thanks to our collaboration with the St. Gallen Energy Agency – the body responsible for reviewing and approving grant applications – our report meets the cantonal requirements.

Our process – from the initial assessment to a tailored renovation plan

Our structured, largely digital process ensures that we meet the high quality standards and reliably deliver the energy assessments within the ambitious timeframe. It consists of several coordinated steps:

  1. Building data collection via web app: Homeowners enter all relevant building data in our user-friendly app – the first step towards accurately documenting the building's current energy performance.

  2. 3D modelling as the basis for the assessment: We create a detailed 3D model of the property using building plans and photographs. This model provides the visual and technical basis for the energy assessment and the planning of renovation measures.

  3. Condition assessment and renovation plan: We then analyse the property's energy efficiency, assess the condition of individual building components and develop a tailored renovation roadmap. This sets out specific measures with estimated investment costs, their projected impact on energy and operating costs, and an overview of available grants.

  4. Follow-up consultation with homeowners: Together with our partners 42hacks and SAK, we discuss the assessment results and the next steps for putting the measures into practice.

While most of the assessments have already been completed, the renovation work is scheduled for summer and autumn 2025.

Working together for a successful energy transition

NORM's easy-to-understand assessments provide homeowners with clear reports on potential savings and tailored renovation plans, encouraging them to implement sustainable measures. Close collaboration between all partners ensures the project's success and helps homeowners turn their plans into action.

The 100in100 project goes well beyond modernising buildings – it actively contributes to climate protection. By installing modern heating systems and photovoltaic systems, participating households can collectively reduce their CO₂ emissions by approximately 350 tonnes per year. This saving is equivalent to the annual CO₂ absorption of a forest covering around 50 football pitches, or the CO₂ emissions of 140 cars. These measures reduce energy consumption and represent a significant step towards a more climate-friendly region.
